Located high in the Andes mountains in southern Chile lies the beautiful community of Mapuche Indians in Quiñenahuín. In 2006 the Latin America ChildCare Vocational High School in Quiñenahuín burned to the ground destroying the only school of it's kind for the Mapuche students of Southern Chile. But out of the ashes has risen what many would call a miracle, because when the school burned the school ceased to exist. Since that time, teams alongside of these wonderful people have been rebuilding the school bigger and better than ever before. The school is not finished, but every team and every day brings the school closer to it's reopening to train young people for the 21st Century.  When the school is opened it will now have a two fold purpose as a vocational secondary school along with an evangelism and pastoral training center.

As of February 2009 the school needs more teams to finish the work necessary to begin classes March 2010.  The necessary work includes but is not limited to: concrete floors; tile; tongue and groove ceilings; painting; wood flooring for second floor dormitories; electrical; window frames; bathroom fixtures; plumbing; kitchen appliances, sinks, building of cabinets.  Funding is also needed for the purchase of beds, linens, pillows, desks, tables, chairs, mattresses, towels, complete tableware for dining hall, complete kitchen utensils and cookware etc...  Please contact us or LACC Area Director This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
